Winston The Cat
Amateur bandmates make attempts to find their first break of success. Failed gigs, crappy studios, and a potential competition, the band must learn to communicate before anyone can hear them play.

Synopsis
In a crappy student flat, three dysfunctional bandmates—lead Elliot, bassist Jeffery, and drummer Ed—make desperate attempts to find their first break of success. After losing a key gig to their rivals, 'The Electrolytes,' the guys crash a 'girls' night' hosted by Elliot's half-sister, Michelle. Desperate to salvage their stalled music career, the band must swallow their pride and learn to communicate when Michelle secures them a studio session with the very competition they despise.

Director's Statement
Winston The Cat came out of our Series module at film school, where the whole cohort pitched concepts and voted on their favourites. I fell in love with this pitch straight away because of its music element and how it explored human dynamics. I’ve always found it fascinating how everyone enters relationships with different goals and principles, meaning clashes are bound to happen, but honest communication is what helps us grow together. Eager to explore that in a band setting, I pitched to direct and was chosen for Episode 1.
Directing a script written by three of my classmates was so much fun because I wasn't working alone. I always had fellow creatives to bounce ideas off, allowing me to dive deeper into what they wrote to inform my directing. It totally opened my eyes to series work and collaborative creation. Working with a much bigger team definitely had its challenges, but we pulled off something we were all proud of. This project taught me how to manage a crew, keep everyone motivated, and handle different artistic opinions collaboratively.
I also got to be 1st AC on Episode 2 and Script Supervisor on Episode 3. Helping my fellow directors bring their visions to life made me realise that while I love leading a set as a director, I enjoy supporting someone else’s creative voice just as much.
